The Invisalign® Process, Explained Step-By-Step

If you’re just now learning about Invisalign treatment, you may not know how the process works or what to expect at your first consultation. Dr. Singh is happy to walk you through the process step-by-step, however, we also encourage you to look over the steps yourself below.

Step 1: Initial Consultation

First, Dr. Singh will discuss your concerns and malocclusion problems to determine if you're a good candidate for Invisalign® treatment.

Step 2: Custom Treatment Plan

Next, Dr. Singh will take X-rays, high-resolution pictures, and impressions of your teeth to create a 3D model. From these impressions, Dr. Singh will be able to map out a precise treatment plan and determine the approximate length of treatment. You will also be able to see a virtual representation of how your teeth will move at each stage of treatment. These impressions are then sent to the Invisalign® labs for fabrication.

Step 3: Receive Custom Aligners and Begin Treatment

In a few weeks, you will receive your first set of smooth, comfortable, plastic aligners. All you have to do then is wear them throughout the day and remove them when you eat or brush and floss your teeth. Their daily wear will gently begin to shift your teeth into perfect alignment.

Step 4: Treatment and Completion

Every two weeks, you will exchange out a new set of aligners, advancing you to the next stage of your treatment. Dr. Singh will monitor your progress with checkups every six weeks or so until your treatment is complete.
